Tour Overview
Akita is one of Japan’s least-touristed regions—a place where powder is deep, crowds are rare, and the pace of life is slow. This tour takes you beyond the lifts into the untouched snowfields of Akita’s ski-area-based backcountry. Guided by certified locals, you’ll explore pristine terrain accessed by skins and local knowledge. Wild, remote, and real.
Arrive at Akita Airport or Tazawako Station.
Transfer to your hotel or lodge near the ski area.

Each day your guide selects the best area based on snow conditions and safety.
Expect ~6 hours of ski touring, using lifts where possible for approach, then climbing skins into the backcountry.
Return in the evening with optional onsen and local cuisine.
